Kenyans Acquiring Internet Domains

time June 18th, 2008 by author Michael Lawrence

The Government will soon be helping Kenyan school’s obtain domain names to help promote education and technology. By lowering the registration fee it should increase the amount of .KE domain sales creating a solid relationship with the proud Kenyan people and domain names.

The new charges will be unveiled in three weeks time, but the exact reduction will be known once discussions within the Kenya Information Network Centre (Kenic) board are finalised.

Kenic chairman Antony Mugambi said the lower charges would help more Kenyans, individuals and corporates to acquire the .ke domains. Presently, acquiring the .ke domain costs Sh2,000. Kenic is responsible for registration of .ke domains.

Also with the meeting of gathering in Nairobi forĀ  IPv6 training this is a great release.
