ARI Registry Services supports one of the first new TLDs to pass pre-delegation testing

ARI Registry Services has become one of the first back-end registry services providers to pass the rigorous pre-delegation testing regime for new Top-Level Domain applicants following official notification from ICANN today that شبكة. has passed.

dotShabaka Registry, the applicant for شبكة. (.shabaka, translates to .web in English), received official confirmation today that they have successfully passed pre-delegation testing. This is one of the last crucial steps in determining whether an applicant is deemed suitable to operate a new Top-Level Domain.

Today’s confirmation signifies ARI Registry Services as one of the first back-end registry services providers to have their systems officially tested by ICANN and given the stamp of approval.

“We are now one of the first officially confirmed providers of new Top-Level Domain registry services in the world,” said Adrian Kinderis, CEO of ARI Registry Services. “This means our other clients can be confident they’ll also pass pre-delegation testing, and it should spark interest in those applicants who are uncertain about their current back-end service providers.”

Mr Kinderis said passing ICANN’s pre-delegation testing requirements is no small feat.

“Our technical teams spent many months developing our registry infrastructure in preparation for the intense scrutiny from ICANN. To be one of the first to pass pre-delegation testing demonstrates that ARI Registry Services is at the forefront of the new Top-Level Domain program and a global leader in the domain name industry,” Mr Kinderis said.

Today’s milestone means شبكة. will appear live on the Internet in the coming months. Mr Kinderis said he’s extremely proud that technology developed by ARI Registry Services will soon enable millions of people across the Arabic-speaking world to access the web in their native language.

Yasmin Omer, General Manager of dotShabaka Registry, thanked ARI Registry Services for their leadership in registry operations.

“Passing pre-delegation testing is a huge milestone and it paves the way for launch preparations to progress, such as Sunrise and Landrush processes,” Ms Omer said.

ARI Registry Services is the appointed back-end registry services provider for the شبكة. Top-Level Domain, which surpassed almost 1900 other applicants to become the first new Top-Level Domain ready for delegation. All pre-delegation testing procedures were conducted on ARI Registry Services’ infrastructure.
