Freedom In a .COM is Worth $2m

Domain Name Journal logoFreedom is valuable, and freedom.com also. The domain name sold for a very nice, for the seller, $2 million in a sale brokered by Starfire Holdings, to not only take out the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for the 2 weeks to 21 May, but also become the second biggest reported sale to date. The only bigger sale to date in 2017 was that of fly.com which sold for $2.89 million.

The sale put every other sale for the fortnight in its shadow, but the second biggest sale was a very big one, that of place.com, which sold for $550,000 in a sale brokered by RightOfTheDot/GoDaddy Domain Buy Service. And third was fort.com, which sold for a very nice $66,500 through RightOfTheDot/NameJet.

There were 14 .com sales in the chart for the 2 weeks, 2 each for .org and .it and one each for .biz and .de. On the aftermarket side of things Sedo was responsible for 11 sales while RightOfTheDot had a hand in 4.
