The sale of lola.com for $550,000 was the biggest sale for the fortnight ending 4 June according to Domain Name Journal’s usually weekly chart of top reported sales in a private sale, making it the sixth biggest reported sale for the year to date.
The domain name became available following the bankruptcy of fashion company BCBG Max Azria who “was given court authority to sell Lola.com (with no other assets involved) and it now points to a company offering a new business travel app.”
Coming in second and third were cpt.com and 1003.com which sold for $69,000 and $45,000 in sales brokered by NameJet and Sharjil Saleem/Sanwal Memon respectively.
There were 16 .com sales on the chart and one each for .org, .de, .co.uk and .ca. On the aftermarket side of things NameJet had a hand in 10 sales, 2 in conjunction with Erwan Kina, while Sedo had 5 sales.
