North American business consultancy firm West Monroe Partners, that through alliances has offices North America, Europe and Latin America and beyond, has paid $275,000 for the wmp.com domain name in a sale brokered by Sedo to top the Domain Name Journal weekly sales chart for the fortnight ending 3 September.
The sale easily eclipsed that of the second and third biggest sales, netlife.com and crypt.com, that sold for $75,000 and $64,000 in sales brokered by Sedo and Morgan Linton respectively.
Coming in fourth was sumo.com.au which sold for A$63,250 ($50,600), an unusual appearance so close to the top of the charts for the Australian ccTLD.
There were 14 .com sales in the top 20 with 3 for .de and one each for .com.au, .net and .nl. On the aftermarket side of things there were 10 sales through Sedo, 5 through NameJet and 2 through DomainsNext.
