It was a big week for BestWeb as they brokered the $550,000 sale of inception.com which became the fourth biggest sale of the year, according to Domain Name Journal’s chart of top reported sales for the week ending 8 July.
Coming in second was another handy 6-figure sale, that of nbx.com, which sold for $130,000 in a sale brokered by Sedo who took out the next 9 positions on the chart and 18 of the top 20 sales. The third biggest sale for the week was ezra.com which sold for €25,000 ($29,250).
On the TLD side of things, .com took out 13 of the top 20 sales while there was one each for .de, .eu, .net, .global, .ba, .fr and .id.
Domain Name Journal also reported a previously unreported (price) sale of vpn.com. The domain name was sold “in a private transaction that was made under an NDA in January 2017. The buyer, Michael Gargiulo, who now serves as the CEO of the company operating the site, informed us that the 18-month NDA has expired allowing him to reveal that he paid $976,730 for the domain.”
