There were 6 six-figure domain name sales on the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales in the week ending 7 July with bettingodds.com coming out top in a £390,000 ($487,500) sale through Sedo.
Coming in second was ncc.com which sold for $300,000 through VIP Brokerage followed by crystals.com ($188,000 through Sedo), viajes.es (€147,000/$166,110 through Nidoma/Sedo), pay.com.au (A$168,300/$117,810 through VPE Pty Ltd) and role.com ($100,000 through BQDN).
There was also the unique situation where one domain name charted twice at seventh and eighth in the same week. As Domain Name Journal explains:
8T.com was sold in last month’s NameJet/RightOfTheDot auction at NamesCon Europe for $76,000. Just days later, BQDN Founder James Booth, representing the buyer, found another investor in China who was willing to pay $87,000 for the domain, so it was sold again, giving the initial buyer a quick, tidy $11,000 profit (less commissions).
Sedo had a hand in 9 sales for the week while BQDN had 6 while NameJet/ROTD/NamesCon Europe had a hand in 2. On the TLD side of things there were 14 .com domain names, 2 for .de and one each for .es, .com.au, .net and .ca.
