“The .pt growth in recent years reflects a growing national projection in the digital world,” says Luisa Ribeiro Lopes Gueifão, President of the .PT Board of Directors. “After 2018, when we have already reached our best year, the 2019 record gives us the confidence that we are on the right track. We will continue to seek to do more and better.”
Today there are 1,211,832 .pt domains under management,
368,897 of these are active. Currently there are 10,805 .pt domains DNSSEC-enabled.
Throughout 2019, .PT developed and supported several initiatives in the area of digital inclusion and enhancement of digital skills in Portugal, including: Sitestar.pt, together with DECO; Apps for Good, with CDI Portugal; #EUSOUDIGITAL, with FCT, INCoDe.2030 and MUDA; Portugal Digital Week, in partnership with ACEPI; and the E-Computing Association.
According to Luisa Ribeiro Lopes Gueifão, it is essential to continue the work developed in recent years. “In 2020 we will continue to focus on digital inclusion and digital skills development in Portugal, on physical and digital security through the implementation of the PTSOC (Security Operations Center) and on the .pt communication that we believe it is a symbol of trust, credibility and innovation”.
