The $1.2 million sale of super.com rocketed it to the top of year-to-date domain name sales. In a week where Name Jet and RightOfTheDot released sales that have now closed from their live and online auctions at the NamesCon conference in January, there were 5 6-figure sales, 3 of which make up the top 3 sales of the year-to-date.
Topping the fortnightly Domain Name Journal chart, because there were so few reported sales in the first of the weeks the week became 2 weeks, was the aforementioned super.com, followed by great.com ($900,000), liquid.com ($750,000), tokens.com ($500,000) and star.org ($225,000). The top 2 sales came from the NameJet/ROTD/NamesCon auction, the next 2 through Starfire Holdings and Sedo took out the next.
In the fortnight to 4 March there were 9 sales through the NameJet/ROTD/NamesCon auction, another 3 through NameJet on their own and 5 through Sedo. On the top level domain side of things, there were 16 .com sales, and one each through .org, .co, .ventures and .de.
